City of Belgrade

One of our projects we are particularly proud of is the Assessment of Vulnerability to Natural Disasters and Other Emergencies for the City of Belgrade and the Emergency Protection Plans for the City of Belgrade, which received a positive resolution from the competent authority of the Ministry of Interior – Sector for Emergency Management. This project undoubtedly represents the most comprehensive document of its kind ever created, as it covers the entire area of the City of Belgrade and includes all 17 city municipalities.

The project commenced in July 2015 and was completed in December 2016, when the Emergency Protection and Rescue Plan received official approval. Despite significant challenges caused by a chronic lack of data, we managed to overcome these obstacles in collaboration with the relevant representatives of the City of Belgrade and produce work that met the criteria of both the Client and the Sector for Emergency Management.

During the development of the Vulnerability Assessment, additional hazards not included in the official methodology were identified. These included the impacts of migration flows, climate change, and large public gatherings on the capital city of Serbia, all of which were analyzed through supplementary sections of the Assessment.
